Nintendo's reliable first-party Wii crop continued to chart, with Wii Fit coming in fifth at 271,600 units and Mario Kart Wii at eighth with 202,100 units. The final June debut to chart in the top ten was THQ's Red Faction Guerrilla, which sold 199,400 copies for the Xbox 360. The game's other versions, which include Xbox 360, PS2, PSP and PS3, did not place on the top ten this month, meaning they sold less than 192,700 units each.Īnother debut from EA this month was Fight Night Round 4, which sold 260,800 Xbox 360 and 210,300 PlayStation 3 units, for a combined 471,100 copies sold. Prototype, an open world action-adventure title developed by Vancouver-based Radical Entertainment (Scarface, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction), sold 419,900 units on the Xbox 360 platform between its June 9 release and the NPD data cut-off of July 4. This is the fourth month in a row facing a significant decline on unreasonably tough comparisons. Overall revenue continues to slump year-on-year, with software sales dropping 29 per cent over the same period in 2008, from USD 875,750 to USD 625,790.

The NPD Group has released its US software sales results for the month of June 2009, revealing that Activision's Prototype sold the most units during the month, with combined sales just shy of 600,000 copies sold between its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
